The entrance to Brighouse rail station is at the end of this bridge. The rail station originally opened in 1840, but closed in 1970. The rail line continued to be used for freight and then station re-opened in 2000, one year after the bridge was reconstructed.

The date stone is in the middle of the stone parapet next to the pavement.

The rail authority bridge number is MVN2 177 and is 34 miles 682 yards from Manchester.
