This is a roadside beacon alongside the R36 near Carolina. Take the obvious little dirt road from the R36 to the beacon. The beacon is the top of the radio mast.

This is one of very few radio masts which are used as trig beacons. We wonder whether that's because radio masts weren't considered permanent enough due to fast changing technology?
