Unfortunately, Tabitha practiced law only eight years. She died at age 33 of Tuberculosis. Buried: Springfield Meeting House (Quaker) cemetery in Guilford County.
See link for a very well-written biography.
Location:Along the street, on the east side of the Surry County Court House. There is a marker for Stoneman's Raid, nearby. The coordinates will take you to another interesting object--a very old Benchmark mounted vertically in the southeast corner of the court house.
Visit Instructions:Photos of your visit to the marker are required, but PLEASE, no old vacation photos taken just because it was there!
Comments about your visit, interesting nearby areas and any significant information you may have on this waymark are encouraged.
Most of all, enjoy the History that North Carolina has to offer! From the Mountains to the Ocean .. it's all here!
