Das besondere an dieser Villa Rustica ist, daß es sich um eine römische Kelter handelt. Noch heute ist das Gutshaus umgeben von Weinbergen, so war es auch nicht verwunderlich, daß die Ruinen bereits im 18.Jh. von Winzern entdeckt wurden. Die offizielle Ausgrabung fand jedoch erst 1981 statt. Die Kelter wurde vom 2.-5.Jh. n.Chr. genutzt. Auf dem Gelände befinden sich Sarkophage eines nahe gelegenen Gräberfeldes. Einmal im Jahr findet hier das traditionelle Römerfest statt, bei dem Wein gekeltert wird und die Besucher Römerkostume tragen.
This Villa Rustica is special, because it hosted a Roman winepress. The building is surrounded by vineyards and this was the place, where the wine was produced. The ruins were discovered in the 18th century by winegrowers, but official archaeological excavation started 1981. Roman settlement lasts here from 2nd to 5th century AC. There are also sarcophagi shown from a Roman burial ground nearby.
Once a year there is Roman wine festival held at this place with Roman costumes.
