Incorporated in 1912, taking its name from a nearby lake, the town of Blaine Lake has a present population of just over 500. The town began as a farming community, like most springing up around the grain elevators built at the site. Though most small towns have lost all their elevators in recent years, Blaine Lake still clings to two, one of which is still in use. The other has been recently decommissioned and will likely go the way of so many others in the near future.

Known for being "The Gateway to the Lakes!", this town is situated near many fishing and recreational lakes and campgrounds.
