The benches are located at the community centre for McQueen, Edmonton's smallest community and which is located in west Edmonton. Althogh there is no immediately available information with respect to the Yates', the community is named for the Reverend David George McQueen a minister at Edmonton's First Presbyterian Church serving from 1887 to 1930.

The bench faces the playground providing a perfect resting spot for watchful parents.

The community is bounded by 111th Avenue on the north, 107th Avenue on the south, 142nd Street on the east and 149th Street on the west.
