The stronghold is located in the picturesque Sedlcany region – a region located between the Central Bohemia and the Southern Bohemia.

Jakub Krcín of Jelcany (visit link) , a renowned builder of fishponds, had the original water stronghold built at the end of his life in 1584. Later the stronghold was used as a granary, however it retained its typical elements - sgrafitto decoration of façade and paintings on both the walls and ceilings. Regrettably, the large pond originally protecting the stronghold from all sides is significantly diminished.

Jakub Krcín of Jelcany also built the largest pond of the Sedlcany region, the Musík pond, and possibly also the adjacent big windmill whose peripheral walls stand up on a hill nearby the Prícovy village.

Jakub Krcín of Jelcany also built the Svet and Rožmberk ponds in the Trebon region as well as a system of canals and drains that brought water to all parts of the pond system.

The building is currently unavailable, there is reconstruction and preparing to open the Jakub Krcín Museum.
