The artistic, very personal, and heartfelt homemade tombstones for Charles and Clara Headworth sit together forever at Sabine Pass Cemetery. These tombstones were obviously designed and made by someone who had artistic talent and love for the deceased. Both are the same shape, but have different personal details.
Clara Headworth's tombstone has two metal pipes for vases inset into the concrete for flowers. The maker also inlaid two epitaphs "She is somebody's hero" and "Beloved MoM" ((shaped like a cross) directly into the concrete.
Charles Headworth's homemade tombstone is inlaid with deep-blue tiles spelling out "Chuck" on the front and "Love U" on the back of the tombstone base. The epitaph for Chuck reads simply "It's your love." A crucifix and small photo frame have been pressed into the wet concrete.
Obviously, these two very special people were much loved and are sorely missed. While the tombstones look very different, they are similar enough in style and personality that we are confident saying they were homemade by the same person.
