Yeonpo is a small port village build in a naturally protected harbor surrounded by small hills. Parts of this area are included in the Taeanhaean National Park although there are no boundary markers.
Yeonpo offers great scenic view and has been the location for movies. Tourism is the mainstay, with camp sites, motels, and restaurants. There is a small facility for small fishing boats, typical of hundreds that dot the Korean coastline.
These trails go up over the small hills, with several access points. This one is on the main road leading into the village from the highway. There is no real parking area, but there are some wider spots along the road where cars can park safely, as is the custom. The trail is wide for the first couple hundred feet, but quickly becomes a narrow footpath through the pines. Traditional grave placements are a common sight along the trails.
