This Veterans' Memorial appears to be an eternal flame that is no longer lit. The Memorial is on the western side of the Pettis County Courthouse - 415 South Ohio Avenue in Sedalia, Mo.

The Pettis County Veterans' Memorial appears to be an eternal flame that is no longer lit. The Memorial is constructed of three concrete columns that radiate from the gas pipe. The columns support the flame nozzle. An aluminum plaque has been engraved:

Dedicated Nov. 11, 1973
This Memorial to all Pettis Countians, living and dead, who served the Armed Forces of the United States of America.
Presented to the Pettis County Court and all Pettis Countians by the American Legion Post 16.

The entire Memorial rests on a concrete pad about 4 foot square. There is a metal American Legion Seal embedded in the pad in front of the Memorial.

Description of Memorial:
This Memorial is on the western grounds of the Pettis County Courthouse. Unlike the more prominent Doughboy Statue, this Memorial is about 15 feet of the main walkway to the south.
