Saint James United Methodist Church of Greenville, NC is the home location of Troop 340 and Explorer Post 2340. In the mid-1990s, the facility was preparing for a number of capital campaigns but no funding was allocated for relandscaping the entrance to the church. \
Scouts worked for a number of weekends with car-wash fundraising to secure landscaping materials, trees and shrubs. A small team worked to remove the sod and then planted creeping junipers and crepe myrtles. Almost 20 years later, one half of the landscaping has been removed to allow increased handicap access but the other half is thriving.
