The village of Imber was requisitioned by the Army in 1943 and the villagers where asked to leave, the only remaining building intact is the church. The village is still under MOD restraints and only open a max of 50 days a year, usually Bank Holidays and for a Christmas Carol Service over the Christmas period.
The Church was stripped of most of the items of value inside at that time ,
The Building is now maintained by the CHURCHES CONSERVATION TRUST and is a GRADE I listed building. The only coloured window is of victorian stained glass.
