Whittington former school has a lovely recessed date above the door. Now used as the office of a long established local building firm. Grade 2 listed structure.

The lintel and window surrounds are sandstone with a slate roof. The walls are limestone rubble. The recessed date is typical of North Lancashire and North Yorkshire. This design is not seen in south of England. Lancaster architects, Paley and Austin, are thought to have designed this building.
