This mural on the south wall of the Legion was designed and painted by Dennis Jacobs of Water Colour Memories. The painting was commissioned by the Royal Canadian Legion in 1999.
The mural depicts scenes of Vimy Ridge, battle scenes of World War I & II, and United Nations Peacekeepers.
The mural covers all aspects of Canada's military - the Army, Navy and Airforce. In addition, the role of today's United Nations Peacekeepers are also depicted, a role that includes both military and humanitarian support.
Memorials dedicated to Canadian soldiers from locations such As Vimy Ridge are depicted. Details have been well captured, almost photograph like in many cases.
In addition, the artist has included an inscription dedicating the painting to Canada's forces. The mural is well located in town for even the passing visitor to have an opportunity to view it.
