I recovered this U.S. Coast & Geodetic Survey benchmark from 1932 in good condition. It is located on private property but a metal witness post can be seen from the road. This benchmark is also listed on a topography map as BM 635 and has the elevation of 634.592 stamped on the disk face. The NGS datasheet description is adequate for station recovery. My posted coordinates will put you directly on benchmark.

DESCRIBED BY NATIONAL GEODETIC SURVEY 1935 8.2 MI SW FROM REDDING. 0.7 MILE SOUTHEAST ALONG U.S. HIGHWAY 99 FROM THE POST OFFICE AT REDDING, SHASTA COUNTY, THENCE 1.7 MILES NORTHEAST ALONG PARKVIEW AVENUE, AND THENCE 5.8 MILE NORTHEAST ALONG A COUNTY ROAD (THE OLD REDDING-ALTURAS HIGHWAY), 48 FEET NORTHWEST OF THE CENTERLINE OF THE ROAD, AT A FENCE LINE, AND OPPOSITE A TELEPHONE POLE. A STANDARD DISK, STAMPED 634.592 S 118 1932 AND SET IN THE TOP OF A CONCRETE POST PROJECTING 12 INCHES ABOVE GROUND.
