Sisseln used to be a part of the parish of Frick until the plea for incorporation in the much closer parish of Eiken was approved in 1797. In 1823 Sisseln got a church of its own, that was dedicated to St. Fridolin.

The church is still in active use. Since 1979 it is part of the combined parish of Eiken and Stein. Mass is celebrated about once a week, exact dates can be found on the web site.
