Die karolingische Justinuskirche in Frankfurt-Höchst ist das älteste erhaltene Gebäude in Frankfurt am Main und eine der ältesten Kirchen in Deutschland. Die große Bedeutung der Justinuskirche gründet sich einerseits auf ihre bedeutende Bauplastik, andererseits darauf, daß sie eine der wenigen fast vollständig erhaltenen früh-mittelalterlichen Kirchen ist, und seit rund 1150 Jahren ununterbrochen als Kirche genutzt wird.
Die dreischiffige Basilika stammt aus der Zeit um 830, der spätgotische Hochchor entstand ab 1441. Die Kirche steht am östlichen Ende der gut erhaltenen Höchster Altstadt hoch über dem Main. Zur Stadt hin besitzt sie einen Vorplatz, zum Main hin einen großen Blumen- und Kräutergarten, dessen Begrenzung die erhaltene Höchster Stadtmauer bildet.
Erzbischof Otgar von Mainz (826–847) ließ in Höchst um 830 eine, dem Bekenner Justinus geweihte Kirche errichten, dessen Gebeine er als Reliquien aus Italien mitgebracht hatte. Die Gebeine des Namenspatrons St. Justinus wurden hier etwa 450 Jahre lang aufbewahrt. Die Kirche, die für die Siedlung Höchst viel zu groß war, sollte als Machtsymbol gegen den Königshof in Frankfurt stehen. 1441 siedelte das Antoniterkloster aus Roßdorf bei Hanau nach Höchst um und gaben als Chorherren den Bau eines spätgotischen Chors und zahlreicher anderer Erweiterungen in Auftrag.
Nach der Einweihung der großen neuromanischen Josefskirche übernahm diese die Funktion der katholischen Pfarrkirche. Die Justinuskirche wird seit 2009 als "Sommerkirche" für Gottesdienste genutzt und ist ein beliebter Ort für Hochzeiten. Wegen ihrer ausgezeichneten Konzertorgel und ihrer Akustik finden im Rahmen des "Höchster Orgelsommers" Konzerte mit internationalen Künstlern statt.

The Carolingian Saint Justinus' church in Frankfurt-Höchst is the oldest building in Frankfurt/Main and one of the oldest churches still existing in Germany. On the one hand, St. Justinus is important for its stonework, and on the other hand, it is important as being one of the few nearly completely surviving early medieval churches, which has been continuously used for around 1150 years.
The three-aisled basilica originates from around 830, and the late Gothic chancel was built from 1441. The church is situated at the eastern end of the well-preserved Old Town of Höchst high above the Main. Towards the city, it has a forecourt, to the Main a large flower and herb garden, whose boundary are the preserved city walls of Höchst.
Archbishop Odgar of Mainz (826-847) established the church in Höchst in 830, dedicated to Justin the Confessor, whose remains he had brought with him as relics from Italy. The mortal remains of the patron St. Justin were kept there about 450 years. The church, which was too big for the settlement Höchst, should stand as a symbol of power proximate to the royal court at Frankfurt. In 1441 the Order of St. Anthony moved from Roßdorf near Hanau to Höchst, the order built the late Gothic chancel and made numerous alterations.
After its inauguration, the great neo-Romanesque Church of Joseph took over the function of the catholic church. The Saint Justinus' church has been used since 2009 as "summer church" for worship and is a popular place for weddings. Because of their excellent concert organ and its acoustics, as part of the "Höchster Orgelsommer", there are concerts with international artists.
