Mermaid With Six Strings - Aptos, CA - Artistically Decorated Utility Boxes on Waymarking.com

This beautiful utility box is painted on four sides in a wraparound fashion. The standout feature is a purple-bottomed mermaid with a guitar. Shiny gold paint outlines the features of the mermaid, turtles and waves. The body of the guitar is from a turtle shell. A second turtle swims in the nearby waves, while above the wave a cliff-side lighthouse can be seen. A message of thanks from the artist wraps around the back three sides of the box. It says, "Thank you to all | Santa Cruz Artists and | Musicians who inspire Creativity in All of us!"

The artwork was done by by Ket Tom-Conway, an art instructor at nearby schools.

The utility box can be found on the northern corner of the intersection of Soquel Drive and Rio Del Mar Boulevard in Aptos, California.
