Oakdale is a village in Monroe County, WI, USA with population of 402 at the 2010 census but the sign reflects the 2000 census population of 297. Updating the sign is not a priority item in the budget. I GUESS!

In 1857 the name of this Village was LeRoy WI. The mail that was suppose to come here went to a town 25 miles away by the name of Elroy, WI; so in 1862 the board decided to change the name of the Village to Oakdale WI.
