I located this benchmark after seeing it listed on a topography map as BM 4672. The benchmark is in great shape. The coordinates in the NGS datasheet for this benchmark are way off so the waymark coordinates I've input are much closer to its location.

DESCRIBED BY COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY 1954 0.8 MI SE FROM INDIAN WELLS. 0.8 MILE SOUTHEAST ALONG A PAVED ROAD FROM THE INDIAN WELLS RANGER STATION, ON THE NORTH SLOPE OF A LAVA KNOLL, IN THE TOP OF A LARGE LAVA ROCK OUTCROP, 83 1/4 FEET EAST OF A LONE 24-INCH PINE TREE, 73 FEET SOUTH OF THE CENTER LINE OF THE ROAD, 10.5 FEET WEST OF THE EAST END OF THE KNOLL, ABOUT 1/2 FOOT LOWER THAN THE TOP OF THE KNOLL, AND ABOUT 4 FEET HIGHER THAN THE ROAD.
