112 GWM USGS - Modoc County, CA - U.S. Benchmarks on Waymarking.com

I located benchmark 112 GWM USGS at the same coordinates from the Q 504 NGS datasheet (PID MW0203) and there is NO NGS datasheet for 112 GWM at these same coordinates.

The datasheet for Q 504 (PID MW0203) benchmark describes the area that is on the topography map listed as BM 4290 NW of the SAME BM 4290 elevation that appears SE and where I found this benchmark. This means that the USGS datasheet for Q 504 AND the topography map elevation info are in ERROR and need to be updated to reflect the Q 504 (PID MW0203) coordinates and different elevation on the topography map.

I will write to USGS and let them know of their error and to correct the datasheet info to Q 504 as well as informing the NGS folks that they may want to create a datasheet for the 112 GWM USGS benchmark.

*NOTE* I could not find the Q 504 benchmark at the topography listing where Q 504 should be. It may still be there but I didn't spend enough time searching.

Location info: 112 GWS USGS is imbedded in a rocky outcrop approximately 30-40 feet west of the road and about two feet above the ground. This benchmark is easy to spot from a distance and there is no nearby witness post. Benchmark is in good condition.
