As these 50 to 60-year-old tanks age, it becomes impractical to save them. Their 100K-gallon capacity pales in comparison with tanks measured in millions of gallsons. Cary, Apex, Lillington and Wendell removed their small tanks some years ago. With the Angier tank producing income from cellular companies, perhaps this tank will continue to stand for years to come.

Angier is progressive in another sense. Instead of simply having the name of the town painted on the side, the wording advertises the Town's web site.
