This is one of the principal tourist attractions in the city of Ho Chi Minh. It is the former "palace", offices, and residence of the now defunct Presidents of South Vietnam. The building was completed in 1966. A decade later, on April 30, 1975, it saw the Fall/Liberation of Saigon when a North Vietnamese Army tank crashed through its gates. Now tourists stroll through, progress.
The interior of the Palace has been restored to its former state. This includes artwork, sculpture, meeting rooms, residential quarters, and, in the basement, a war room. All in a 1960s style. There are numerous signs describing each setting, and its importance in the war.
Entry cost for an adult is 30,000 dong, ~$3.
