"Die Kirche zur hl. Katharina ist im Jahre 1434 geweiht worden. Am Portal an der Südseite erkennt man die Jahreszahl 1558. Die Westfassade zeigt etwas verwitterte Freskenreste, nämlich das Jüngste Gericht und einen Christophorus. Wie viele andere Lajener Filialkirchen hat auch St. Katharina einen Barockaltar. Im Altarschrein sehen wir Maria mit dem Kind sowie Barbara (links) und Katharina (rechts). Die gewundenen Säulchen sind mit Rebmotiven verziert. Die Figuren dazwischen sind Nikolaus und Martin. Ganz oben sieht man Gott Vater mit der Weltkugel. Im Altarraum hat sich das hübsche gotische Netzgewölbe mit einem bemalten Schluss-Stein erhalten, während das Kirchenschiff von einem später eingefügten Tonnengewölbe überragt wird (Krönung Mariens). Der rechte Seitenaltar zeigt den hl. Antonius von Padua, der linke Maria mit dem Kind mit dem Weinpatron Urban, der dem Kind eine Traube reicht. Das Altarbild soll von Carl Henrici, dem Maler des Bozner Herz - Jesu - Bildes, stammen. Daneben stehen 2 weitere Heiligengestalten, nämlich Leonhard mit der Kette und wiederum Urban mit der Weintraube." - Quelle: (visit link)

"The church is dedicated to St. Catherine and was inaugurated in 1434. On the portal in the southern states the year 1558. The figures in them are St. Nicholas and St. Martin. Above you can see God the Father, laying the ball in the world. In the space above the altar She's kept the graceful vault with pilastersand keystones the star painted, while the nave has a barrel vault ceiling added in the following period (Coronation of Mary). The altar on the right shows St. Anthony of Padua, while the one on the left Mary with the Child and the patron saint of wine S. Urban, who tends to him a bunch of grapes. The picture of the altar shouldbe of Carl Henrici, famous for the painting of the Sacred Heart Bolzano.
