At this point travelers travel between Worcester County, MD (on MD Route 12) and Accomack County, VA (on VA Route 679). Other than the State Highway sign change, a MD Scenic Highway sign, and the fact that you pass State Line RD - there is no notification that you have crossed a state border.
On the West side, Swan Gut RD follows the border for a bit, and on the East side State Line RD follows the border.
