Robust Cast-Iron Milestone on the road to Bridgend A473, at Laleston High Street, located just opposite Ty Mawr and the Mackworth Arms, on the pavement, against a new stone wall. Laleston is a suburb of Bridgend, Wales.

Several of the remaing stones between Port Talbot & Bridgend carry the date placed as 1841.

Nearly opposite Ty Mawr on the North side of the main village thoroughfare.

History:
"One of a series of cast iron mileposts erected 1830,s for the Bridgend Turnpike Trust. The road was first turnpiked in 1764.

Listed:
Included as good example of an elaborately detailed cast iron milepost.
