This cemetery is well kept and maintained. It is divided into two sections with entrances on each end, but the signage depicting the cemetery is located between the two entrances.
Located on US Highway 212 in Dewey County, South Dakota, Eagle Butte has a population of 1,318 as of the 2012 census. It has grown in population from the 2000 census by approximately 113 percent.
The area was settled by German, Irish, French, and Norwegian immigrants and the town was incorporated on October 15, 1911.
