Rouleau is a rural region of Saskatchewan known as the Breadbasket of Canada: Where people are friendly, the air is clean, the space is abundant, and the skies are a different color every day.

The hit comedy show “Corner Gas” was what really put Rouleau on the map. K is more than a huge fan of Corner Gas, and our trip would not have been complete without a stop at the local corner gas station in Dog River. Our time in Saskatchewan was amazing.

A little history: Rouleau’s name is derived from Mr. Justice Rouleau, a judge who presided in the Northwest Territories before the province of Saskatchewan was formed. Pioneers, largely from Ontario and the United States, settled here in the early 1900's during the construction of the SOO line railway.

The community was incorporated as a village in 1903 . Rouleau hosted a training facility for servicemen during the First World War.
Type of community: Town
