Chumphon is a small and quiet provincial capital ~450kms south of Bangkok. Lacking the usual, single, large provincial bus station there are a number of small, semi-formal stations across the city. This particular station deals with travel from and to Chumphon city and the southern districts of the province.
There is a single seated bus shelter, a dozen or so motor cycle taxi drivers dozing in the heat of the day, and a half dozen or so "tuk tuk" mini-busses (covered trucks) ready to wheel you away. Ticketing is done on the bus. Schedules are when the bus is full or nearly so. This station is located near the city centre, near the city hall. A favourite destination is Hat Sai Ri ("Hard Sigh Ree"), 30kms away on the beach.
