Logan the Orator (c. 1723?–1780) was a Native American orator and war leader born in the Iroquois Confederacy. Although he was of the Cayuga nation, after his 1760s move to the Ohio Country, he was sometimes referred to as a Mingo. His revenge for the killing of family members by American frontiersmen helped spark the 1774 conflict known as Dunmore's War. Logan became famous for a speech, later known as "Logan's Lament", which he reportedly delivered after the war. Important details about Logan have been disputed by scholars, including his original name and whether or not the words of "Logan's Lament" were actually his.

Full-length standing figure of Chief Logan, facing north, with head turned to the east or proper left. His proper right arm is held straight at his side and his proper left arm is bent forward. His proper right leg is straight. His proper left leg is bent and his left foot rests on what appears to be a large rock. He wears no shirt, but has a long cape behind his shoulders which drapes down past his knees. He wears a necklace with teeth attached. A leather strap over his proper left shoulder extends down to his proper right hip. Another leather strap holds a garment that drapes around his waist. He wears leather leggings with fringe along the outer seams. He is barefoot and has long black hair held in a headband.

The figure is made of painted metal and the plinth is a representation of a stack of stones made from the same type of metal as the rest of the sculpture.

A bronze plaque with the words from Logan's Lament is placed in a garden in front of the statue.
