This is no ordinary guest book; the following can be read in a plaque in front of the guest book:

Edinburgh is a city steeped in stories, myths, and legends.
We ran a survey for this display and asked which of the three following stories you liked best:
- William Burke, and his accomplice Hare committed multiple murders and sold their victims' bodies to the surgeon Robert Know for medical dissection.
- Greyfriars Bobby, - the renowned story of a faithful dog
- Deacon Bdrodie, notorious for his double life, he was a respectable citizen by day and a burglar by night.

Greyfriars Bobby was the favourite of the three, taking half the votes cast.

Now we would like to know what stories you would like us to tell in the future Musuem of Edinburgh. Your choice could be people or tales from the past and present.

Please write your ideas in the book below.
