In an obscure road leading out of the village of Barão de São João one will find an amazing collection of figurative sculptures. They were created by master Deodato Inácio Santos, a man who was born in the nearby Lagos in 1939.
He learn how to mold clay in Escola Industrial e Comercial de Lagos with master António da Luz and to work with wood with master Américo Guerreiro dos Santos. The popular singer Zeca Afonso encouraged him to write. Later he wrote articles to several local newspapers and magazines.
Around his house, located here, he displays some of his works. Highly recommended visit. A hidden gem.
