The headstone is fairly plain and the inscription simple and to the point.
It refers to Joseph Scholefield of Moorlands, Birkenshaw. This is a smaller hamlet on the hills above Tong.
The headstone is near a boundary wall and although there is an entrance nearby it is at the far end of the cemetery from what is the main entrance.
