This is the monument of the starting point of the Basic Line 'Solitude-Ludwigsburg' of the Surveying of the former state 'Württemberg' in 1820. It is located at the Solitude Castle in the near of Stuttgart, Germany, Baden-Württemberg.
The length of the Basic Line (German: Grundlinie) 'Solitude-Ludwigsburg' is 40,118.718 Paris Feet or 13,032.14 meters. The end of the line is at the Ludwigsburg Castle. There's another monument in the style of a pyramide.
It was messured in 1820. This was the basic line (first line) for the complete surveying (triangulation) of the former state of 'Württemberg'.
The monument plate is at the center of the ground level of the Castle. It is free accessable to the public at all times.
