The David Thomas house was built originally in 1856. Originally the house was a woodframe house with a wood exterior it was later modified and has a stone exterior.

David Thomas was a successful industrialist in the iron industry. A native of Wales, he is known as the "Father of the American anthracite iron industry"

The house is in excellent condition and continues to serve as a private residence
