This area is near to the pier and a couple of fish and chip restaurants.

Apparently shrimps and prawns are different suborders of Decapod Crustaceans. In modern aquaculture literature marine species are referred to as shrimps and freshwater species as prawns.

I've no idea whether the sculptor had a prawn or shrimp in mind, but as this is near the sea I'm going to assume it's a shrimp. However looking at the pictures on the Wikipedia shrimp page above it actually looks more like a prawn.
