In Boston's Financial District, along Devonshire Street, is the Elephant and Castle Restaurant, which has a red telephone booth in the entranceway to the restaurant.

The box is easily visible from Devonshire Street - it how I discovered it. Often, in pleasant weather, the pub entrance door is open.

The booth appears to be authentic. Comparing other pictures of red telephone booths, it has a similar shape; there is a crown at the top (painted gold on this one), there is a place for a name (has Elephant and Castle in this one), has a similar arrangement of columns and rows of panes on each side, has similar hinges and metal pull handles on the door, and has other ridges and recesses around the edges that were seen in other images. If it's fake, it's a good one. There was nothing in the box.

The Elephant and Castle Restaurant is a chain operation with 19 locations throughout the U.S. and Canada, with the headquarters in Boston. This restaurant tries to create the atmosphere of an British pub, so, it is quite possible that this was an authentic box imported from 'across the pond.'
