The small city of Luang Prabang in northern Laos has a number of dated building, most dating back to the old days of French rule, however, this house was built in the communistic period (still current), in 1994.
When I first saw this house I thought that the date was the date of reconstruction, not the original date, but I was assured by a local that the house was indeed constructed in a French era style by a rich member (communist party official) of the local community. Thus the date on the top floor of the house is 1994.
The house is on the main street through the city, and on the Mekong River, thus a pleasant breeze and a cool local climate. Pleasant spot from which to plan the well being of the local people.
