Na míste dnešního barokního kostela stával od 14. století drevený kostel. Ten vyhorel pri požáru v roce 1661. Na jeho míste byl vybudován stavitelem A. Kriestesem z kladské Bystrice v letech 1679–84 zdený farní kostel. V letech 1735–36 byl prestaven a zvetšen. V letech 1993–99 byl rekonstruován, na jeho opravu prispeli dárci z Ceské republiky, Nemecka a Polska.

At the site of today's Baroque church stood since the 14th century wooden church. The fire burned it down in 1661. In its place was built by architect A. Kriestesem of Kladsko Bystrice in 1679-84 brick parish church. In 1735-36 it was rebuilt and enlarged. In 1993-99 it was reconstructed thanks to donors from the Czech Republic, Germany and Poland.
