The tower houses four clocks, one for each side. The faces are white, numerals Roman & the hour & minute hands black enabling local citizens to see it from a distance. The clock's bells are housed in the belfry at the top of the tower. Work was carried out in the 2006/07 financial year to restore the court’s damaged heritage clock tower.
Part of the attraction of these large town clocks is the chiming of the bells on the hour every half hour & this one did not dissappoint.
