This hamlet was left by its inhabitants a long time ago. I barely can imagine how it would be to live in such a remote location. Individuals would work the fields, extremely hard work, not only because farming is always demanding... these grounds are specially poor and rocky. In the evenings people of the hamlet would gather, telling stories, talking about the daily life. And then, on the weekend, finally, some social life... traveling to a village to attend a local party.

Unfortunately I know nothing about Limeira. But for the look of it it was abandoned a long time ago. Not as recently as other hamlets and villages in Portugal. The houses look really old. Stone made, no masonry at all. They are facing South, with awesome views of the surroundings mountains.
Reason for Abandonment: Human Disaster

Date Abandoned: 01/01/1950
