Four generations owned and operated this mill built in 1826, by Alexander Wallace. Ownership passed to his daughters Mary Angelina and Mary Eleanor, in 1863, who operated the mill for 32 years, before selling it in 1895 to their nephew J. Nelson Cross.
His son, Harry Cross assumed ownership in 1944. He donated the mill to York County in 1979, but operated it until 1985.
Wallace-Cross Mill got its power from Rambo Run.
Today, the mill is owned by the York County Department of Parks and Recreation.
