Unfortuately, not all historical properties on the NRHP list are being maintained. This boarded-up house is across from the Walters State College - Sevier County Campus, and surrounded by a tall chain link fence. The grounds are being mowed and there is a vegetable garden.
Rose Glen, built in the 1840s by Dr. Robert Hatton Hodsden, was once one of the largest farms in the county with several functional buildings. Wikipedia has an excellent write-up on this location (see secondary link below) for those wanting more information.
