A bronze plaque attached to the Village Sign of St Peter's, Broadstairs, is the only information readily available about a time capsule buried beneath the sign post. the plaque reads;

This plaque was unveiled / on the 8th February 1996 by; / Councillor Mrs Davies. / Chairman of / Thanet District Council / & / In memory of / Councillor Mrs Hillyard, / Mayor of / Broadstairs and St Peters.

It commemorates the / renovation of the village / sign and the placing of a / time capsule.

Contributions to the capsule / were received from local / parishioners and school / children, for the benefit of / future generations.
