The original cut stone church building, with this dated tri-part emblem in the front gable end, was erected in 1879, with a later brick church constructed next to it in 1926. It has been well preserved over the years, and when the church moved to another location in the early 1970, the Ellis County Historical Society acquired the building for use as its offices and museum. The stone church building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
