The Krueger Building, one of the oldest buildings in Hays, is unfortunately showing its age.

Constructed on local limestone in 1878-79. The three story structure was built to serve several purposes, with a grocery and general store on the first floor and large room on the second floor where community events could be held. Around the turn of the century it was converted into a commercial club, later it was used as a grocery/hardware and then as a warehouse.
Unfortunately the limestone exterior is crumbling, with large pieces of stone littering the side walk around the building. There are also obvious holes in the roof. In March 2012 a notice of condemnation was posted on the building.
