Broken Head Walking Trail is 4kms South of Byron Bay on the far North Coast of NSW
The Park is Administered by The Goverment of New South Wales National Parks

A fee of $2 is required here
Parking is available 200 mtrs back down the road at no cost
Broken Head Nature Reserve is within the land of the Arakwal people, of the Bundjalung tribal group, which extends from Byron Bay south to Ballina and inland to Woodburn, Coraki and Lismore.
At the entrance to Park is an information sign
"Jingi Walla" aboriginal words meaning Broken Head Nature Reserve
Walk along the Cliff Top through a canopy of Native Hibiscus,hoop Pine and Cotton Wood.
Taking the time to admire the view
Half way along the walk you will find an information Board telling
the Dreamtime Story of 'Three Sisters Rock' tells of three sisters bathing off the headland. One became caught in a strong current. The other sisters swam to save her but were also swept away. Bundjalung people told this story to their children as a warning, for if they swam here they too would drown and be turned to stone.
From here you can view a several large groups of rocks surrounded by ocean
As you walk further along trail you will find information on
the land and waterways, and the plants and animals that live in them, which feature in all facets of Aboriginal culture - including recreational, ceremonial and spiritual, as well as being a source of food and medicine. They are associated with dreaming stories and cultural learning that is still passed on today.
At the end of the trail is a Look Out
An information sign tells of a tragic Aeroplane crash in 1942 in which 10 people were killed In a Locheed Hudson Bomber .
