"Das Anton-Karg-Haus besitzt eine lange Tradition. Im 19. Jahrhundert und zu Anfang des 20. Jahrhunderts diente es der Sommerfrische angesehener Bürger Kufsteins. Aus dieser Zeit stammen die für eine Berghütte ungewöhnlich geräumigen Zimmer, z.T. sogar mit eigenem Balkon. Lange Jahre wurde das Haus durch die Familie Pavicic bewirtet (der Pächterwechsel erfolgte 2006).
Das Anton-Karg-Haus liegt an einer besonders schönen Stelle des Kaiserbachs, dem Hinterbärenbad. Der Überlieferung nach kühlten sich hier die Braunbären, welche früher im gesamten Alpenraum verbreitet waren, an heißen Sommertagen durch ein Bad. Möglich ist aber auch, dass die Bären nur nach Nahrung suchten, was nahe dem Kaiserbach so aussah, als würden sie baden.
Im 19. Jahrhundert wurden die Bären aus Angst der Alpenbewohner, die vor allem um ihr Vieh fürchteten, ausgerottet. Es gibt jedoch Bestrebungen, den Braunbären in den Alpen Österreichs wieder anzusiedeln. Vom früheren Vorkommen der Bären zeugen heute noch alte Zeichnungen und Gemälde." - Quelle: Wikipedia
