A large ghost sign on the side of a
private residence in the High Street, Garlinge, shows it was once an
Ironmonger's. The placement of the window was obviously made after the sign was
painted!
Although the then owner's initial is
faded, the sign reads; ? Terry, Ironmonger. The 1913 Kelly's Directory of Kent
lists a James Terry, Ironmonger, in High Street Garlinge, Kent.
