The mountains and rivers of Korea stand out in this relief sculpture but it also dramatically shows the outline which Koreans believe represents a tiger, rearing on its hind legs and its head thrown back.

The inscription at the base indicates that it is dedicated to the reunification of the peninsula as one country. It is carved of granite, standing about ten-feet, with a base showing ocean waves in relief.

The sculpture is located in a central park area in the harbor town of Ttangkkeut, which means Land's End, located just north of the end of this narrow peninsula of the main peninsular land, measured as the most southern point of the Korean peninsula, although there are hundreds of Korean islands south of here, including the semi-autonomous island province of Jejudo.
